Kudumbasree will provide job training to 15,000 youngsters in urban areas in the State. Training will be provided under the National Urban Livelihoods Mission, of which Kudumbasree is the nodal agency.
As many as 22 new training agencies have been provided work orders under the project, which was launched earlier. The target is to provide job training to 15,000 youngsters in 93 urban areas through 45 agencies.
Post-training, Kudumbasree will make available the services of expert agencies to help the youngsters find salaried jobs or go for self-employment.
For self-employment, individuals will be given loan up to ₹2 lakh and groups loans of up to ₹10 lakh at 4% interest.
Training will be given in various courses to youngsters whose qualifications range from class 8 to graduation. The courses are approved by the National Council for Vocational Training or the National Skill Development Corporation. Facilities to reside at the training centres for the programme will be available.
