Transport Minister Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan has expressed misgivings about the sincerity of the CITU-affiliated KSRTEA, which has called for a 24-hour strike seeking redressal of its 21 demands.
“All of us know that the government will not be able to implement most of its demands now, in the backdrop of the code of conduct of the local bodies elections,” he told mediapersons here on Monday.
It was untimely since the government was to initiate a high-level talk with nationalised banks for a Rs.1,300-crore loan to bankroll a comprehensive package for the KSRTC.
“The strike itself could be a reason for the talks to fall through,” he said. The talks were to begin on Tuesday, he said and expressed doubt on the sincerity of the leadership for selecting the same day to launch a strike.
