Kochi Biennale 2018: Curious about the curator

December 11, 2018 06:58 am | Updated 06:58 am IST

The fact that Kochi could get such an outspoken female artist on board as Anita Dube to direct this biennale, in such difficult times worldwide, says it all. We are so curious what Anita Dube – who seems to be a specialist in turbulences and turbulent art – will want to show us in Kochi.

This biennale deserves a long-term future, which is rare in today’s art world where many artists and institutions seem to accept a short-term life. We feel privileged to have contributed a humble film programme to this year’s biennale, in which filmmaker Alexander Kluge is present with work.

Chris Dercon, designated president of Réunion des Musées Nationaux, an umbrella organisation of Paris National Museums and the Grand Palace.
