In a major breakthrough to the probe on trafficking of women to the Middle East through Nedumbassery and Thiruvananthapuram airports, the prime accused in the trafficking of women has landed in the Interpol custody in Dubai.

CBI sources said K.V. Suresh, a native of Valappad in Thrissur, was arrested by the Interpol in connection with the case registered in 2012.

Investigations had revealed that Suresh had played a key role in trafficking of women during 2007-12.

He used to supply them to prostitution rackets in Muscat, Sharjah, Dubai, and Ajman.

A team of officials had left for Dubai to expedite other formalities in bringing Suresh to India.
