Palarivattom flyover
The Palarivattom flyover in Kochi city was in a precarious state, with chinks being found in 97 girders. Piers too were unsafe. DMRC Principal Adviser E. Sreedharan had submitted a report detailing the flaws in the construction. The rehabilitation work would cost ₹ 18.5 crore. A bridge expected to have a durability had become unusable in two and a half years. This was unprecedented in the State, he said.
Mr. Vijayan clarified that the government was trying to implement the Supreme Court verdict on the church row on consensus than by using force.
