A team to conduct aerial survey of the entire eastern stretch of the State

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Leader of the Opposition Ramesh Chennithala and Revenue Minister E. Chandrasekharan have set out from the State capital to survey the flood-ravaged parts of the State.

The team would conduct aerial survey of the entire eastern stretch of the State and will visit the worst-hit areas in Idukki, Wayanad, Kozhikode and Ernakulam. Chief Secretary Tom Jose, State Police Chief Loknath Behera and Additional Chief Secretary (Revenue) P.H. Kurien are also part of the team.

The Chief Minister and team would hold a meeting with officers of the district administration, Kerala State Disaster Management Authority (KSDMA) and Kerala State Electricty Board Limited to review the latest situation at the dam sites and also visit some flood-hit areas.

 

The team would leave for Wayanad, which was hit hard by the monsoon rains, and proceed to Kozhikode before returning to Ernakulam.

The Chief Minister would stay back at Kochi for discussions with Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, who is scheduled to reach the State on Sunday morning to study the flood havoc first-hand.
