The Kerala Congress (M) high-power committee will discuss issues including the verdict of the Vigilance Court in the bar bribery case against Finance Minister K.M. Mani after the local body elections, KC (M) working chairman and Water Resources Minister P.J. Joseph has said.
Talking to media persons at his residence in Purappuzha, near Thodupuzha, on Friday, he said an appropriate decision would be taken on the issue after the committee meeting.
However, he kept mum on how a section of the party saw the issue and the discontentment brewing inside the party. He did not answer to the queries on the court verdict and its impact on the party.
Meanwhile, Kerala Congress State general secretary P.C. Joseph told reporters that the verdict on the bar bribery case was the biggest crisis the party was facing after its formation 51 years ago.
He said there should be a decision in the party on the issue that was acceptable to the party workers and the public. The KC (M) high power committee should meet the next day after the local body elections. He said he would give a letter to the party’s working chairman in this regard.
“I will open my mind after November 6 when the elections are over”, he said.
