Jalandhar diocese sex scandal: SIT collecting evidence, says SPC

July 14, 2018 08:04 am | Updated 08:04 am IST - PATHANAMTHITTA

The special investigating team probing the sexual abuse case against Bishop Franco Mulackal has been collecting evidence, State Police Chief (SPC) Loknath Behera has said.

Mr. Behera said here on Friday that there was no pressure at all on the investigation agency from any corner and the arrest would be made only after collecting sufficient evidence against the accused. The investigation was on the right track and the arrest of the bishop would be made as soon as the police collected all relevant evidences.

Mr. Behera said the investigation in the sex scandal case involving four Orthodox Church clergymen was carried out on the same line. The Crime Branch investigation in that case too was on the right track, he added.
