IUML suspends Kadangode unit

October 12, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:53 am IST - Thrissur:

The State committee of the Indian Union Muslim League suspended its Kadangode panchayat committee after it reached a consensus with the LDF for the coming local body elections.

The League unit at the Kadangode panchayat, which distanced itself from the UDF camp after the last panchayat bypoll, is contesting in an independent poll symbol in the name of Janakeeya Vikasana Munnani.

The IUML had contested against the Congress candidate at the bypoll held two-and-a-half- years ago to ward No. 2 in the panchayat following some difference of opinion.
