Innocent, MP, called on Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan at the latter’s residence at Kanichukulangara here on Wednesday.

The LDF has retained him as its candidate for the Chalakudy Lok Sabha constituency. Mr. Innocent visited the Yogam general secretary seeking the support of the SNDP in the Parliament election.

Mr. Innocent said that he would not visit the headquarters of the Nair Service Society (NSS). “I will meet the local leadership of the NSS in Chalakudy and seek their support,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Natesan continued his tirade against the Congress party. He said the party had neglected the Ezhava community in candidates’ selection. The Congress has cheated Shanimol Usman by fielding her from Alappuzha after promising her a more safe Wayanad seat.

He, however, backtracked on his earlier statement that he would tonsure his head if LDF candidate A.M. Ariff was defeated in the election in the Alappuzha constituency. He reiterated his stance that Yogam vice president Thushar Vellappally should resign from the post if he was to contest the election.
