Hundreds take part in mass run in Pathanamthitta

Hundreds of people, including students, people’s representatives, employees, workers of various voluntary and non-governmental organisations, women, and senior citizens took part in the mass run ‘Run Kerala Run’, held in different parts of the district on Tuesday ahead of the 35th National Games to be held from January 31 to February 14.

The mass run was held at 416 different points in the district, according to official sources. Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha P.J. Kurien flagged off the run from the District Stadium in Pathanamthitta town in the forenoon. Prof. Kurien said such kind of events that reflected people’s unity and active public participation was a must for national development.

Revenue Minister Adoor Prakash; K. Sivadasan Nair, MLA; Anto Antony, MP; A. Sureshkumar, municpal chairman, and S. Harikishore, District Collector, also spoke.
