Two persons drown in Bharathapuzha

The heavy rain and wind that lashed the Thrissur district from Sunday morning caused widespread damage in Thrissur district.

Two persons, who went for fishing in Bharathapuzha in Painkulam in Thalappilly Taluk drowned on Sunday, sources said.

The deceased were Mohandas, 47, and Rajesh, 26, of Thozhuppadam.

They went missing by 5.30 p.m. on Sunday.

While the body of Mohandas was recovered on Sunday evening, body of Rajesh was recovered on Monday morning. An old building collapsed in the heavy rain at Eriyad in Kodungallur Taluk. One person was injured in the incident.

A house collapsed in Avinissery. Nobody was in the house at the time, the police said.
