KOCHI: The state would go in appeal against the High Court order cancelling the government’s permission to start 104 plus two schools, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy said.

Talking to the press here on Monday, he said the High Court’s order was interim in nature. ``The court hasn’t criticized the government and has in fact given its nod to a chunk of batches allowed by the state. It has only refused to sanction some hundred plus batches’’, he observed, saying the cabinet would discuss the issue of appealing against the order.

Mr.Chandy insisted that the government’s interest was in tandem with that of students. He also added that the government would respect the verdict, regardless of its stance. He also took complete responsibility on the decision to grant fresh plus two batches.
