The District Collectorate has received contribution of ₹4.93 crore towards the Chief Minister’s Distress Relief Fund (CMDFR). Those who have contributed include organisations, individuals, Kudumbasree units, National Cadet Corps battalion, colleges, cooperative banks and the pensioners’ association, among others.

The One Month for Kerala campaign to help the flood-affected people in the State is drawing good response from government officials. The campaign launched under the aegis of the district administration has also got the support of people’s representatives, including members of the district panchayat and heads of local bodies.

District Collector Mir Muhammed Ali said in a press release that employees of Ratlam District Collectorate in Madhya Pradesh had donated their one-day salary to help the people in the flood-affected areas.

He said the people have a duty to involve themselves in efforts to re-build the State.

Considering the enormity of the loss, setting apart one-month salary for saving flood-hit Kerala was not a big deal, he said.
