Eraviperoor has become the first grama panchayat in the country to facilitate free Wi-Fi to the general public. Grama panchayat president N. The rural areas of Kozhimala, Vallamkulam, Othera, Nannoor, and Eraviperoor had come under free Wi-Fi network, he said.

The Rs.4,17,000-project was implemented with technical support of Active Infocom Ltd. The project was formally commissioned by T.N. Seema, MP. The panchayat also launched its total e-literacy project with the help of P.N. Panicker Foundation.

The local body had won many accolades for its development initiatives in the past five years. The Horticulture Department had selected Eraviperoor a Model Hi-tech Green Village in recognition of its green initiatives. The ISO-certified panchayat’s public information is being passed over to the people by SMS alerts, the honorarium as well as salary of the staff are being paid as electronic money directly to their bank accounts on the first working day of every month.
