Four illegal title deeds cancelled

Former Devikulam Subcollector Renu Raj has cancelled four title deeds issued to encroached government land in Munnar.

The action was taken on September 24. She had directed the Devikulam tahsildar to cancel the title deeds for 2.5 acres of land at Ekka Nagar under Survey number 912 and attach the land.

The title deeds issued by Raveendran, an additional tahsildar in Devikulam in 1999, which were known as ‘Raveendran pattayams’ were cancelled after completing formalities as per the High Court order.

She directed the Devikulam tahsildar to attach the land and cancel the thandaper.

The order said that the tahsildar was entrusted with the task of attaching the land as the title deeds were fake. The High Court had ordered to cancel the title deeds after one Biju Pappachan had filed a case saying that the 2.5 acres of land at Ekka Nagar was acquired by one Mariyadas after forging the documents.
