Film-making workshop to conclude today

A three-day workshop on film-making, under way at SD College here, will conclude on Friday. The workshop is being organised by the English department, on the occasion of its golden jubilee celebrations.

Film director and cinematographer Sunny Joseph inaugurated the programme on Wednesday. He spoke on the art and craft of cinematography. An interaction with director Lijin Jose and a session on screen writing by scenarist P.F. Mathews were among the programmes held. Sessions on editing, sound and animation were held on Thursday.

The third day’s programmes include a session on direction by director Kamal. Lyricist Vayalar Sarath Chandra Varma will be the chief guest at the valedictory session. R. Praseeda Varma, head, Department of English, said the year-long golden celebrations were inaugurated earlier by writer Benyamin. She said the department was planning to start a certificate course in screen writing.
