Three members of a family, who were stranded in their flooded home at Mangalam near Chengannur, were found dead on Friday. Officials said the deceased were identified as Baby, 90, of Kannadalil, Sosamma George, 75, and Reni, 30.
The family were living in a single-storey house. Reni was bedridden and the family decided to remain inside the house and wait for rescuers. Although, rescue teams had passed by the area twice they could not enter the house due to strong currents.Officials said another person Mahesh Kumar, 25, died during rescue operations at Champakulam on Friday evening.
