‘Encourage youngsters to practise yoga’

Yoga sessions held in Viyyur sub- jail

: Yoga should be made as part of lifestyle as it would help one to keep good heath, C.N. Jayadevan MP said. He was speaking at the inauguration of the International Yoga Day celebrations organised by the Thrissur Press Club in association with District Yoga Association here on Sunday.

The young generation, who spend long hours in front of computers and TV, should be encouraged to practice yoga, he noted.

Therambil Ramakrishnan MLA presided over.

More than hundred NCC cadets participated in the yoga performance held at Vimala College.

Government Chief Whip Thomas Unniyadan inaugurated the yoga day observation at Unnayi Warrier Kala Nilayam, Irinjalakuda.

Yoga classes were held at Viyyur sub-jail under the leadership of Jesus Fraternity and jail officials. Bhodananda Yoga Kendram conducted yoga classes and held yoga therapy at Poonkunnam.

Yoga classes were held at Punarjani Naturopathy centre, Kundannur, near Wadakkanchery, too.

Pathanjali Yoga Vidya Peetam conducted yoga performances at Manathala Viswantha Temple auditorium.

NSS volunteers conducted a yoga session at Kunnamkulam Government Polyclinic. Around 300 NSS cadets from various colleges participated.
