The campaign launched by the authorities of the Thrikadavur Community Health Centre (CHC) on Saturday as part of the month-long campaign against drug abuse attracted the attention of many.

The campaign offered prizes to the participants who write slogans against drug abuse. People were asked to vote against drug abuse by writing a slogan and cast it inside a ballot box at Anchalumoodu Junction. Students, youth, office goers, traders, autorickshaw drivers, many senior citizens, and cashew workers were among those who coined slogans and cast them into the ballot box.

The participants were asked to write their names, address and phone number too on the slogan paper provided by the organisers.

Health Inspector of the CHC P.R. Balagopal said the votes would be subjected to a draw of lots next week to decide the winner. A quiz competition on drug abuse was also organised.

During the month- long observation, more such attractive campaigns will be launched in the area, he said.

The programme was inaugurated by the Anchalumoodu block panchayat president, Juliet Nelson. Anchalumoodu panchayat president B. Anil Kumar distributed prizes to the winners.
