The Excise Department has decided to intensify drive against brewing and sale of illicit liquor and drug trafficking in the district in connection with the parliament election.
Officials said that a round-the-clock control room had started functioning in the district. The identity of persons who pass on information about illegal activities will be kept secret. Other than the control room, people can also contact Excise Department offices, officials said.
