The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is gearing up to commence trial run in the Aluva-Palarivattom stretch where metro via duct, rails and other systems are expected to be completed by early 2016.

Sourcing power

“Trial run would be extended up to Maharaja’s College Ground foreseeing commencement of commercial operations in the 18-km metro corridor from June. Sourcing power for trains from third rail laid in between the rails is a newer technology. Civil works are attaining speed at the coach-maintenance yard in Muttom near Aluva, where rail-laying work would begin shortly,” a DMRC spokesperson said.
