District-level dairy farmers meet at Paravur

The district-level meet of dairy farmers will be held at Paravur in Punnapra in the district on February 24 and 25.

Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, Karumadi Murali, chairman programme committee and K.K. Radhakrishnan, convener of the programme and deputy director, Dairy Development Department, Alapuzha said that K.C. Venugopal, Union Minister of State for Power, will inaugurate a dairy farmers’ meet on February 25. K.C. Joseph, State Dairy Development Minister, will inaugurate a seminar and honour the best dairy farmer on the occasion. Kodikunnil Suresh, MP, Ramesh Chennithala, T.M. Thomas Isaac and Thomas Chandy, MLAs, will distribute the various financial aids as part of projects in the district dairy sector.

The papers on the topics, ‘Dairy farmer welfare fund’ and ‘Organic farming and dairy sector’ will be presented as part of the seminar.

V. Mohanan, assistant general manager will present a paper on the topic, ‘Importance of banks in dairy sector’.

A debate involving dairy farmers and dairy development department officials will also be held as part of the meet.
