Dharma Raksha Yatra from November 23

October 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:46 am IST - PATHANAMTHITTA:

The new forum of religious organisations initiated by the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam will launch a Statewide vehicular campaign, ‘Dharma Raksha Yatra’, from Kasaragod on November 23, according to Yogam sources.

Vellappally Natesan, Yogam general secretary; Akeeramon Kalidasa Bhhattathiri, Yogakshema Sabha State president, and T.V. Babu, Kerala Pulayar Mahasabha general secretary, will be among those who will lead the yatra from the front. Prominent personalities belonging to different sections of the Hindu community too would be taking part in the yatra, sources said.

The yogam is making hectic preparations to make the post-poll yatra a big hit by ensuring massive public participation.

The Bharatiya Janata Party is also learnt to have deputed certain Union Ministers for addressing the Dharma raksha yatra at certain key points enroute.

Rally in capital

The sources said the proposed yatra would culminate in a massive rally in Thiruvananthapuram on December 5.

Prominent Central leaders of the BJP, Viswa Hindu Parishad and other Sangh Parivar organisations too will be addressing the rally likely to be held at Shanghumukhom.

The announcement of the new party, Dharma Jana Sena, too would be made at the rally, sources said.

Meanwhile, the yogam has also made arrangements to open Jana sevana kendras (JSK) in all panchayats across the State.

Initially, JSK will function as a public service arm of the SNDP-backed league of socio-political organisations. However, it would turn into a social service arm of the Dharma jana sena, once the party is officially launched, sources said.
