Devagiri college leads in inter-zone arts fete

Farook college, Victoria college come second and third

St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri, Kozhikode, is leading in the Calicut University Inter-Zone Arts Festival, ‘Wayanart-2019’, being organised by the university union at St. Mary’s College at Sulthan Bathery in the district.

The college scored 72 points when 68 events were completed on Saturday evening. Farook College, Kozhikode, and Government Victoria College, Palakkad, are second and third, with 64 and 61 points respectively.

First prize winners in stage items are:

English drama: Sahrudaya College of Advanced Studies, Kodakara, Thrissur; best actor: Lonestine Soly; best actress: Bhanu Priya Nair.

Veena: Unnimaya Mannazhi (SNDP Yogam Shathabdi Smaraka College, Perinthalmanna, Malappuram).

Kathakali song: Sneha (Kerala Varma, Thrissur) Manjari (Bhavan’s Law College, Ramanattukara, Kozhikode).

Kadhaprasangam: Meghana Govind (St. Joseph’s College, Devagiri, Kozhikode).

Group Song: MES Mampad; Kuchipudi: A. Sreelakshmi (Calicut University campus); Mridangam: Anirudhraj (Government Victoria College, Palakkad).
