Day after snub, Suresh Gopi hits back at NSS

June 29, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:42 am IST - KOLLAM:

Actor Suresh Gopi told mediapersons here on Sunday morning that “the Nair Service Society (NSS) leadership is badly in need of corrections”.

The actor, who was snubbed by NSS general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair on Saturday, was reacting to the incident on arrival at a resort at Mayyanad to inaugurate a family get-together of the Kollam Press Club.

“The members of the NSS should seriously think in terms of subjecting the NSS leadership to corrections,” he said.

“No politics”

Mr. Gopi was reprimanded by Mr. Nair when he entered the NSS pradinidhi sabha hall where the annual budget session of the organisation was in progress. Mr. Gopi said there was no political calculations in his visit to the NSS headquarters as alleged by Mr. Nair.

The NSS headquarters should open to all. Earlier, Mr. Nair had also snubbed KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran.

“This should not be the attitude of persons heading the community. Had Mr. Nair had any reservation about my visit to the NSS headquarters, he could have informed me about it even through a peon. The reaction of Mr. Nair was unbecoming,” the actor said.
