CPI(M) worker attacked

A Communist Party of India (Marxist) worker was stabbed by suspected Bharatiya Janata Party workers at Kathirur, near Thalassery, on Thursday. K. Ashraf of Eruvattikombil, near Kathirur, has been taken to a hospital in Kozhikode from a cooperative hospital in Thalassery, where he was first admitted. The police said he was attacked at Kappummal around 9 a.m. while he was riding his two-wheeler to sell fish. The incident triggered tension at Kathirur, which had witnessed political clashes. The police have been deployed in the area.
