CPI(M) vows to shun factionalism

The Communist Party of India (Marxist) State committee has finalised the schedule for party district conferences and approved the guidelines issued by the CPI(M) Central committee to keep the conferences clear of factionalism.

Briefing reporters about the CPI(M) State committee deliberations here on Monday, State secretary Pinarayi Vijayan said the committee had concluded that it would be possible to stick closely to the guidelines and to put a total end to factionalism.

The party district conferences, he said, would begin in mid-December. The following is the conference schedule for various districts: Kasaragod: December 19 to 21, Kannur: January 13 to 15, Wayanad: December 29 to 31, Kozhikode: December 15 to 17, Malappuram: December 26 to 28, Palakkad: January 6 to 8, Thrissur: January 2 to 4, Ernakulam: January 6 to 8, Idukki: January 10 to 12, Kottayam: December 29 to 31, Alappuzha: January 10 to 12, Pathanamthitta: December 19 to 21, Kollam: January 2 to 4, and Thiruvananthapuram: December 15 to 17.

Mr. Vijayan said the organising committee for the party State conference, being held here in the first week of February 2012, would be formed on September 26. The organising committee for the 20th CPI(M) Party Congress, being held in Kozhikode in April next, would be formed later, he said.
