Court orders probe into repeat petitions

December 02, 2012 02:01 am | Updated 02:01 am IST - KOCHI:

The Kerala High Court, on Saturday, ordered an inquiry into the incident in which a petitioner moved two separate petitions, one after another, in the same case filed under the securitization law.

The order was passed by Justice K. Vinod Chandran.

The court directed the petitioner, Vijaya Kaniyarathu Cyriac of Kottayam, to appear before the Registrar (Judicial) or (Vigilance).

A petition filed by him earlier against the auction of his properties was dismissed in the morning, and he was asked to pay Rs.10,000 as litigation cost.

The court had earlier asked him to pay an outstanding loan amount to a bank in instalments. However, he defaulted on the payment. So, the bank took steps for auctioning off his properties. As his first petition was dismissed, he moved the court again in the afternoon. The court ordered the inquiry when this was brought to its notice by the counsel for the bank.
