M.P. Sreenivasan, opposition councillor in the Thrissur Corporation, held a day and night protest in front of the cabin of the Mayor demanding streetlights in his division.
Though other councillors, including a few from the ruling party, joined him when he started the protest on Tuesday afternoon, they withdrew from the protest by Tuesday night when authorities promised to solve the problem.
But Mr. Sreenivasan was not ready to withdraw his protest with a mere promise. He continued his protest through out the night till Thursday evening. He declared that he will not stop his protest till the last streetlight in his division started functioning. His protest didn’t go in vain as the Corporation authorities repaired the streetlights in his division.
