Corporates exploiting resources: CPI

June 06, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:38 am IST - PATHANAMTHITTA:

Corporate companies are competing with each other in exploiting natural resources and it is high time a strict vigil is kept against this highly dangerous trend, Kanam Rajendran, the Communist Party of India (CPI) State secretary, has said.

Mr. Rajendran was inaugurating the Smriti Vanam project as part of the World Environment Day observance by the All India Youth Federation at Adoor on Friday.

The Communists have to take a lead role in environment conservation, as it involves restoration of the ownership right of the society on natural resources, the CPI leader said. Mr. Rajendran said water scarcity would be a major problem in future.
