Petition against suspended IG

May 09, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:59 am IST - THRISSUR:

A petition was filed against suspended Inspector General of Police (Thrissur range) T.J. Jose in the Thrissur Vigilance Court on Friday seeking examination of his phone details and tour diary.

Mr. Jose was allegedly caught copying during the LLM examination of Mahatma Gandhi University recently.

In the petition, social activist P.D. Joseph urged the court to examine the qualification certificates and examination papers of Mr. Jose.

The petitioner alleged that the investigation by ADGP N. Shankar Reddy into the alleged copying case was not effective, and sought a forensic examination of the papers possessed by the IG at the time of the examination. The petitioner demanded an inquiry into the assets of Mr. Jose.

The court will consider the case on May 12.

Meanwhile, Mr. Shankar Reddy met A.C. Babu, Deputy Registrar of the university, in connection with the case. The report in the case will be submitted to the Home Department within one week, Mr. Reddy said. Earlier, he had conducted an inquiry at St. Paul’s College, Kalamassery, where the examination was held. — Staff Reporter
