Competitions in skit, elocution, recitation, rendition of patriotic songs and national anthem and quiz will be held as part of Gandhi Utsav at the SL Puram Gandhi Smaraka Grama Seva Kendram on October 12.
The programme is being organised as part of the Gandhi Darshan scheme of the Department of Education. Students who won contests at the sub-district level will participate. The programme will be inaugurated by District Collector N. Padmakumar.

The district-level Gandhi Jayanti Week celebrations, organised by the Information and Public Relations Department, in association with various organisations, concluded at the Kunchan Nambiar memorial at Ambalappuzha. Sculptor Biju Joseph, who has made about 50 statues of Gandhi, was honoured on the occasion.
