Cocaine seized,
one arrested
A team of Excise Department officials arrested a youth in connection with allegedly transporting cocaine at the Muthanga Excise check post on Sunday morning.
The officials seized 80 mg cocaine from him. The arrested was identified as Shefeeque, 29, of Puthukudiparambu at Mankavu in Kozhikode district. A luxury car, which was used for transporting the narcotics, was also seized. The contraband was kept in a bag inside the car. Shafeeque told the officials during the interrogation that he was transporting the narcotics from Bangalore to Kozhikode for a friend, he added. — Staff Reporter
