Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan on Tuesday came out strongly against former State Police Chief T.P. Senkumar accusing him of levelling baseless charges against the government.

Reacting to the discussion on the notice for a adjournment motion moved by Thiruvanchoor Radhakrishnan in the Assembly, he said the Mr. Senkumar’s utterances and actions were unbecoming of an officer in his position. Addressing the UDF benches, he said, “"He is no longer in your camp. This government had given him a decent position but he has played into other hands.”

Earlier, while highlighting the deteriorating law and order situation in the state, Mr. Radhakrishnan referred to Intelligence reports about the security threat to Mr. Senkumar who was removed from his post by the LDF government.

Mr. Senkumar who has moved the Supreme Court against his ouster from the post, took on the government last week alleging that he was a victim of political vendetta. He had claimed that he was removed from the top post because of his role in investigating CPI(M) leaders involved in two sensational murder cases.
