Charge sheet filed against Dileep in the actor abduction case

Dileep’s former wife, actor Manju Warrier has been named as a key witness in the case.

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing the abduction and sexual assault of a female actor in Kochi submitted the charge sheet against five other including actor Dileep here on Wednesday.

Investigation officer Circle Inspector Baiju Paulose submitted the report which runs over 1450 pages at the Angamaly judicial first class magistrate court around 4.00 pm on Wednesday.

Besides Dileep, who has been named as the eighth accused, Advocate Raju Joseph, former counsel of Pulsar Suni, and his junior lawyer Pratheesh Chacko have been also named as accused in the case.

With this, the number of accused in the case rose to 12. The SIT had earlier submitted a charge sheet against seven others including Pulsar Suni, the key accused in the case. Meanwhile, two of the accused, identified as Vipin Lal and Civil Police Officer Aneesh, have turned approvers in the case.

The supplementary charge sheet contains about 400 documents including results of various scientific tests and as many as 33 confidential statements.

Dileep’s former wife, actor Manju Warrier has been named as a key witness in the case. The charge sheet also entails over 350 witness statements including those from the members of the Malayalam film industry.
