Chandy to address campaign tomorrow

: The UDF campaign for the November 2 local body election is expected to peak when Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will make a whirlwind tour of the district on October 19.

Mr. Chandy will address poll meetings in six places, including the hilly pocket of Chittarikkal where the alliance is facing threat from an Independent candidate, Sherly Sebastian, who recently formed part of a locally cobbled front after quitting the Congress.

Mr. Chandy is scheduled to address public meeting at Uppala, Kasaragod, Chattanchal, Kanhangad, Chullikkara and Chittarikkal before entering Kannur district where he will address a meeting at Payyannur, DCC president C. K. Sreedharan said.
