The Paripally police on Saturday arrested three nomadic women, all natives of Tamil Nadu, on charges of chain snatching.

Police gave the names of the arrested women as Kaliyamma Nagaraj (45), Lakshmi Raju (33), and Vadheshwari Muthupalani (23). All of them are residents of Anna Nagar slum colony in Tuticorin. Circle Inspector V.S. Biju said that they were caught red-handed by passengers in a KSRTC bus when they snatched the gold chain of a woman in the bus. The women denied snatching the chain. The passengers then informed the police and the women were taken into custody. The chain was found from one of the women at the police station when women civil police officers frisked them. Mr. Biju said that the three women often come to Kerala for chain snatching. Special Correspondent
