The Narendra Modi government at the Centre is a government for the corporates, Communist Party of India (Marxist) State secretary Kodiyeri Balakrishnan has said.
Mr. Balakrishnan was addressing a public meeting held in connection with the foundation laying of the work on the CPI(M) area committee office at Aranmula on Thursday.
He said Mr. Modi had been pursuing a divide-and-rule policy to help corporate companies. He alleged that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh, Bharatiya Janata Party, and other Sangh Parivar organisations were trying to sabotage the Indian culture of ‘unity in diversity’ by propagating their slogan of ‘one nation, one culture, and one party.’
Mr. Balakrishnan said there was every reason to suspect an RSS agenda behind the NEET dress code under which several candidates were reportedly harassed in the State.
The BJP and the Sangh Parivar organisations had been prescribing what people should wear and what they should eat.
Banks’ service charge
The CPI(M) leader alleged that the service charge introduced by the banks for fund transactions was part of the BJP government’s hidden agenda to help the corporates.
As many as 52 BJP MPs were former Congress leaders and CPI(M) was the only political party strong enough to counter the anti-people BJP.
A. Padmakumar, former MLA, presided. Raju Abraham and Veena George, MLAs, spoke.
