Cases against six gas agencies

: Officials of the Legal Metrology Department registered six cases against gas agencies in raids that were conducted in various parts of the district on Tuesday.

According to officials, operations were undertaken in Karthikappally, Mavelikkara and Ambalappuzha taluks, in which a total fine of Rs. 16,000 was also slapped against those who violated laws. Irregularities such as inadequate weight of gas cylinders and the use of weighing equipments without required certifications were discovered during the raids.

The squads were led by Assistant Controller K.P. Padmakumar and senior inspector S. Sheikh Shibu. Others in the teams included inspectors Shiny Vasavan, J. Sivaprasad, Niffy S. Haq, inspecting assistants Jayakumar and K.V. Vijeshkumar.
