: A female leopard, aged around four years, was found dead in a private coffee plantation at Anakkad, near Mepadi, under the South Wayanad forest division on Thursday. South Wayanad forest divisional officer Abdul Azeez said the carcass was found in a coffee plantation adjacent to the Mundakkai section of forest and the cause of death could be ascertained only after an autopsy. A team of surgeons from the Kerala Veterinary and Animal Sciences University will carry out the autopsy, he added.
A few months ago, a carcass of a female leopard was found trapped in an iron fence of a plantation at Nedumbala under the forest division.
