The Centralised Allotment Process (CAP) of the Mahatma Gandhi University for undergraduate programmes at affiliated and constituent colleges belonging to government, aided and self-financing streams, which began on Friday has evoked healthy response.

The total number of registrations during the first two days exceeded the 45,000 mark, according to University authorities. Out of these, 31,728 students have paid the fees at the 181 designated branches of State Bank of Travancore. According to them, more than 25,000 students had sought registration on the first day and 12,101 had paid their fees at the designated SBT branches on the first day. The system has ensured redressal of complaints online and, so far, 52 complaints have been disposed of.

The University has provided special facilities for registration at Akshaya centres, University Information Centres and Kottayam, Pathanamthitta and Kanjirappally centres of the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension. The process will conclude on June 3.

According to University authorities, allotment to seats under management quota, community quota, sports quota, quota for differently-abled persons and cultural reservation would not be covered under CAP. Candidates seeking admission to such seats should apply directly to the respective institutions.

Candidates seeking reservation under Lakshadweep quota should also apply directly to the institutions where seats have been reserved for them. Helpline numbers are 0481 6555563, 6555564, 2732282, 2731020.
