All issues related to the SilverLine project of the Kerala Rail Development Corporation Limited (K-Rail) will be resolved amicably, Fisheries Minister Saji Cherian has said.

Speaking after attending various programmes in the district on Tuesday, Mr. Cherian said as the proposed project envisaged the comprehensive development of the State, the support of all sections of the people was the need of the hour to materialise it.

Visiting a caged aquaculture unit in the Banasura Sagar reservoir, Mr. Cherian said the caged fisheries unit was a huge success and 200 tonnes of fish were produced in the unit. It also provided job opportunities to 191 tribespeople in the area.

“The project has been successfully implemented in six reservoirs in the State and it will be expanded to three more reservoirs soon”, he said, adding that the project would ensure job opportunities for tribespeople in various parts of the State.

The Minister also visited the caged fisheries unit in the Pookode lake.
