: The new concept of business correspondence in banking was highlighted at a programme organised by the Department of Management Studies of the Kannur University on its Mangattuparamba campus here on Tuesday.

Speaking at the programme, M. Sreekumar, head of a Kozhikode-based technology solutions business, said that this emerging area can support the rural co-operative banking sector and the economy.

Successful model

The new model has been successfully practised by the Thenjipalam rural cooperative bank, he said, adding that the bank has, as a result, enhanced the rural deposits and reduced non-performing assets rates substantially.

It is a concept where co-operative bank reaches the doorstep of customers for banking transactions, he noted.
