Boy loses his fight against cancer

Gowtham Ajaykumar, a native of Pallippad, who appeared for this year’s SSLC examination while fighting a valiant battle against cancer, succumbed to the illness on Monday.

Son of Ajaykumar and Jisha, of Ramakeriyil, Gowtham attended a part of the examination travelling to Haripad from Thiruvananthapuram, where he was undergoing treatment at the Regional Cancer Centre. However, he could not attend the final three exams due to deteriorating health. After his health improved, he later appeared for Save a Year examination and was awaiting the results. Of the seven subjects Gowtham appeared for, he scored A plus in three, A grade in one, B plus in two, and B grade in one. He was a student of the Government Boys HSS, Haripad. His funeral will be held on Tuesday.
