Body of fisherman identified

The body of one of the four fishermen who went missing after their boat capsized nearly 50 nautical miles off the Kozhikode coast was brought to Beypore around 2.30 a.m. on Saturday.

The police identified the victim as Anto, 36, a native of Colachel in Kanyakumari.

Fisheries officials were present at Beypore to receive the body, which was brought by a local fishing vessel.

Inquest and post-mortem examination procedures were completed by 4 p.m. and the body was sent to the victim’s home town by an ambulance.
