The BJP will open its account in the State in the Lok Sabha elections, Union Minister for Tourism K.J. Alphons has said.
The people of Kerala would respond to the good initiatives executed for the welfare of the people during the past four years under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he told a press conference here on Monday.
Listing out the nine initiatives that had benefited the people, Mr. Alphons said: “the Prime Minister has acted as per the wishes and needs of the people, as has not been done in the past 65 years. The people are close to us and the BJP will open its account this year and go beyond it. The prospects in Kerala cannot be forecast.”
To a query whether he will contest to the Lok Sabha from the State, Mr. Alphons, presently a Rajya Sabha MP from Rajasthan, said he was a worker of the BJP and would go by the party decision.
The Union Minister criticised those who were opposed to the inauguration of the Kollam bypass by the Prime Minister. “It is a Centrally funded project. Such controversies and questions why the Prime Minister was invited for a small project will come only from Kerala. The State was informed of the visit,” he said.
