The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) activists on Monday took out a protest march to the office of Public Works Minister G. Sudhakaran here on the Sabarimala issue.

The activists marched with dogs after alleging that the Minister had insulted the Sabarimala Tantri and Ayyappa devotees.

The march, which commenced from Paravur junction, was blocked by the police and arrested party workers.

In custody

The police also took dogs into custody. Later, BJP activists led by Party district president K. Soman staged a protest in front of the Punnapra police station. BJP State vice-president P.M. Velayudhan, BJP leaders M.V. Gopakumar, Kottaram Unnikrishnan, P. Vijayakumar, L.P. Jayachandran, D. Pradeep and others attended the march. Meanwhile, the CPI(M) has flayed the mode of protest. CPI (M) District secretary R. Nazar said that the BJP was engaged in personal attack on the Public Works Minister.
