BJP State general Secretary K. Surendran alleged that CPI(M) and Chief Minister Oommen Chandy was trying to divert attention of people from real issues of corruption and stunted growth to petty issues like beef controversy.
“Their only agenda is to attack the Prime Minister. He asked why the writers didn’t respond when a ban was slapped on Taslima Nasrin. That beef festivals are being conducted in a state, where there is no ban on beef, clearly shows vested interests,” he said.
Mr. Surendra claimed that the political mind of the State has changed. BJP district president A. Nagesh presided over the event.
It also offers free electricity up to a bill amount of Rs. 500 and free drinking water supply.
