The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) national executive member P.K. Krishnadas has said that the attack on the Chinmaya Mission Women’s College here by alleged Students Federation of India (SFI) workers on July 3 evening was reprehensible.

Visiting the college here on Thursday, Mr. Krishnadas said that SFI workers vandalised the college as the police remained mute spectators. Alleging police collusion in the vandalism, he said that the arrested SFI activists involved in the attack had been released on station bail.

He also alleged that a staff member in the Chief Minister's office had clear role in the vandalism in the college.

Incident on Wednesday

A group of SFI workers barged into the college on Wednesday evening and damaged window panes, vehicles and flower pots on the college campus at Talap alleging that a student there had been mentally tortured by the college authorities for participating in an agitation against the college management.

BJP leaders including C.K. Padmanabhan, and BJP State cell coordinator K. Ranjith were also among those who visited the college.
